Looking for a place to hang out in with a nice scenic background? Klyde Warren Park is the place to be! Located in heart of Dallas, it is where locals come for a vast array of activities including live concerts, yoga, delicious food trucks lining the streets, movies in the park, and many more; all while being surrounded by beautiful lush greenery. One of the cool things about Klyde Warren Park, is that it is constructed directly on top of the Woodall Rodgers freeway and all the activities are free. It doesn’t matter if it’s a special weekend or not, because there is always something new and exciting here to experience.

Located at 2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway and open to the public from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., this is a cool little spot to come to with some friends, your children, your dog (My Best Friends Park specifically for dogs) or even roam the 5 acres by yourself that the park offers to relax and get rid of any stress that might be in your life.

In terms of recreational events offered, there is definitely no shortage. Croquet is obviously not the most popular sport in the world, but hey if you’re a fan of it than Klyde Warren Park has got you covered. You don’t even have to bring anything as all the equipment is available to be checked out. Looking for something more mainstream to occupy your time there? Classics like golf, ping-pong, and of course chess are all available and waiting for you to try your hand here.

In different times of the year, the park offers seasonal festivities. With the holiday season upon us, Klyde Warren Park will be offering activities throughout the day starting December 2nd starting at 3:00 p.m. including free photos with Santa and live reindeer, face painting, and the Klyde Warren Park tree lighting ceremony.

I will admit that the toughest part of this experience will be finding close parking, especially if you come on a weekend. If you’re planning on coming and spending an afternoon at the park, the earlier the better to avoid the rush. There is metered parking along the street as well as all-day parking garages across the street at the Dallas Museum of Art.

All in all, Klyde Warren Park is a fun little spot where you can enjoy yourself and not spend a great deal of money….or any money for that matter (unless of course you give into temptation and hit up those nearby food trucks for some mouthwatering treats).
